What about orthotics?
Most of us take our feet for granted, and if they ache, we just figure we need to rest them more. Problems in your feet are often reflected higher up in your legs, or even in your back. Many people aren’t aware that one of their legs is slightly longer than the other, stressing joints differently all the way up their body.
If you have pain in your feet or legs, there is a good chance that orthotics can help you. Don is trained to make a cast of your foot in a neutral, non-weight-bearing position – the way it was meant to be before gravity and hard work began to take their toll. He watches you walk to evaluate how the foot functions in motion . All of that information, and the actual cast, are used to create a computer-milled form on which Don shapes your orthotics. The orthotic devices can be used in various boots & shoes, to help support your foot and protect your joints from unnecessary stress.
If you are considering foot surgery, you might want to try orthotics first If the surgery doesn’t work, you are out a lot of money, and you can't undo it. If the orthotics help, you may be able to avoid surgery – and if they don’t solve the problem, you are no worse off than before.
If you have one leg longer than the other, you may want to try a lift built into the shoe or boot for the shorter leg. Don can also work with your doctor or chiropracter's recommendations to help your feet get more comfortable.
